Lucille's classmates, Hamburg 1935
(Lucille is second from the right on the bottom row). |
|
For safety
reasons, Lucille attended a Jewish school in Hamburg. Her
teachers constantly reminded her to be quiet on the
streets, and to avoid conversations with other children.
She had a constant feeling of anxiety. This fear
culminated in Kristallnacht on November 10, 1938, during
which German mobs destroyed many Jewish stores and
synagogues throughout Germany.. |
